Bridgette Gordon Jersey Retirement Tuesday Night between games!

As most of you know Ms. Gordon attended Deland High from 1982-1985 where she was a member of the Lady Bulldogs Basketball Team, she was also on the Volleyball & Softball team. From 1985-1989 she attended the University of Tennessee where they went to 4 straight Final Fours, and won 2 National Championships in 1987 and 1989. She was the Finals MVP in 1989. Tennessee was the first school who had gone to 4 straight Final Fours.

While at Tennessee she was part of the USA Women’s Olympic Team and as a Junior in College in 1988 Team USA was able to bring home the Gold. Gordon still ranks second all-time in scoring in Volunteers history with 2,462 career points.

When Bridgette graduated from Tennessee, she played overseas in the Italian League from 1989-2001 for Pool Comense where they won 7 out of 8 Italian Championships and 2 European Cups. In 1997 and 1998, she played in the Inaugural Season of the WNBA with the Sacramento Monarchs.

She began her college coaching career at Stetson University from 2001-2006, she was a Scout for the WNBA from 2006-2007. She then joined the coaching staff at Georgia State University until 2010. She went on to coach for Wichita State from 2010-2017. In 2017 she got the call to return home to the Rocky Top as an assistant coach/recruiter.
